I love, love, L.O.V.E. my new white studio space! Every Christmas I always think it’ll be a fabulous idea to take a picture of my husband’s side of the family to gift my mother-in-law and every year – until this year – it’s always been a struggle. This year I decided instead of trying to get ONE picture of all of us – which is nearly impossible – I decided to do an album, showcasing our family, my in-law’s and focusing on the grandkids individually as well as all together. Needless to say, my mother-in-law LOVED it!
What I love most about these sessions is that while it was December and intended for a Christmas present, these images are classic and timeless. We skipped a Christmas-y theme and went for season-neutral seafoam blue/green and grey, with blues and creams for mom and dad.
So here’s part 1 of the sessions I did for the album – meet the “other” Carricks – my husband’s younger brother and his family, Andrew, Crystle, Cecilia, Olivia, and Micah.
Look how cute my extended family is! It was fun doing an indoor session this year. Last year we did a fall session in Jacksonville, which I still LOVE as well.
Did you catch my sister-in-law’s name? Crystle Carrick. We confuse a LOT of people with our names as we have a lot of the same social circle, especially on Facebook, and we also have the same middle name. It’s really fun at our in-law’s house with the grandparents trying to keep our names straight. 😉
My nieces are so photogenic. My own kids run from the camera, but these three know how to strike a pose and they always have a great, natural smile.
I love this image! We let the kids get fun and crazy after the posed family shots, but Andrew decided to fun and crazy right from the get-go and made for a fun out-take image.
So, there you go. A little bit of what we put into the Christmas album and just a tiny part of the whole session with my in-laws and nieces. I love how it all turned out!
